Maru Campos chairs Security Table; Chihuahua reports lowest figure of high-impact crimes in 9 years
Governor Maru Campos led the State Construction of Peace Table session, highlighting that Chihuahua has recorded the lowest number of high-impact crimes in nine years.
Governor Maru Campos chaired a session of the State Construction of Peace Table, where it was reported that Chihuahua has reached a significant milestone with the lowest number of high-impact crimes in the past nine years. This achievement is credited to the coordinated efforts of various government agencies and law enforcement bodies working together to enhance public safety in the region. The Trust for Competitiveness and Citizen Security (Ficosec) shared the statistical data reflecting this positive trend, indicating a notable reduction of 15 percent in high-impact crimes in 2025.
During the meeting, Governor Campos emphasized the importance of private sector involvement in security strategies, announcing that representatives from the private sector would participate in the Security Table meetings once a month. This initiative aims to ensure that the business community is informed of and engaged with the ongoing security strategies being implemented in Chihuahua, fostering a collaborative environment for improving safety and security in the state. Campos expressed optimism about maintaining this downward trend in crime rates through continued collaboration.
Rogelio González Alcocer, the coordinator for the Security Table in Juárez, underscored the role of citizens in promoting public safety. He highlighted that when citizens actively participate and collaborate with authorities, it leads to enhanced security outcomes. This collective approach aims to not only address current crime rates but also to cultivate a more proactive and engaged community that plays a vital role in ensuring lasting safety and stability within Chihuahua.
