The Manuel Luís Marine State Park in Cururupu, Maranhão, is set to benefit from a new initiative aimed at coral conservation and restoration, addressing the urgent need to protect its rich biodiversity. This project, facilitated by Brazil's National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES), represents the country's largest effort dedicated exclusively to coral reef conservation. Funded by the Socio-environmental Fund, the project has a budget of R$ 5.5 million and is expected to run for 36 months.
