RTU Rēzekne Academy Promotes Primary School Students' Interest in Engineering Sciences

RTU Rēzekne Academy is conducting engineering science sessions for primary school students, aiming to spark their interest in the field.

RTU Rēzekne Academy has initiated a series of engineering science classes for primary school students, divided into three groups based on their grade levels. The largest group represents students from grades 4 to 6, with over 30 participants enthusiastic about learning the basics of engineering.

A fifth-grade student named Matīss expressed his interest in potentially becoming an engineer, noting that learning about engineering could be beneficial for crafting various machines. The sessions, led by Luīze Bule, a student from RTU Rēzekne Academy gaining her first teaching experience, strive to expose students to different areas of engineering and science.

These classes are held weekly, providing students with an alternative activity after regular school hours to engage in hands-on learning. Instructors have observed a noticeable increase in student engagement and inquiry, with children often asking complex questions that even the instructors find challenging to answer, reflecting their growing curiosity and interest in science.
