A motorcycle and a car were caught driving nearly 200 km/h on a highway in Penápolis, Brazil, well above the speed limit.
On Saturday, September 14, a motorcycle and a car were intercepted on the Marechal Rondon Highway (SP-300) in Penápolis, São Paulo, while traveling at nearly 200 km/h, significantly exceeding the legal speed limit of 110 km/h for the highway. According to the Highway Police, the motorcycle was recorded at a speed of 190 km/h, which is 73% above the allowed limit, while the car was traveling at 183 km/h, 66% over the speed limit.
This reckless behavior constitutes a serious traffic infraction, classified as 'gravíssima' in Brazilian traffic law, which leads to stringent penalties including a fine multiplied by three, totalling R$ 880, in addition to a suspension of the driver's license. The authorities highlight the importance of adhering to speed regulations to ensure road safety, especially on busy highways where speed limits are established to protect all users of the road.
