On Monday afternoon, a three-car collision occurred on highway 8 between Kokkola and Vaasa around 4 PM. A total of five individuals were involved in the accident, and first responders transported all parties to the hospital for check-ups. Following the incident, one lane of the highway was closed for cleanup, causing some traffic congestion, but alternating traffic was allowed to continue while the area was attended to.

Emergency services left the scene around 5:15 PM, after which normal traffic resumed. According to on-duty fire chief Joakim Toivio, the accident took place near the Elisabet Cemetery on the highway.
