The Latvian bobsleigh team, represented by athletes Kalenda and Miknis, expressed their satisfaction with their performance on the first day of competition, where they initially ranked ninth but improved to sixth by the second run. This was achieved despite fierce competition from the leading German teams and a Romanian duo. Kalenda noted that the upper part of the course is challenging, filled with spots of ice that can push the bobsleigh down, complicating the approach into the curves.
