Bobsleigh teams are pleased with the performance on the first day, but everything could still turn upside down

Latvian bobsleigh teams had a surprisingly good first day of competition, currently ranking sixth overall despite challenging track conditions.

On the first day of competitions, the Latvian bobsleigh teams expressed satisfaction with their performance, particularly noting their ability to improve their standings. After finishing ninth in their first run, they managed to move up to sixth place overall by coming in behind only two top German teams and a duo from Romania in the second run. The potential for further success remains uncertain, however, as the track's upper section poses significant challenges that can drastically affect results.

Miknis, a member of the team, commented on the unpredictability of the competition, highlighting how the upper part of the track is difficult for all crews and can easily disrupt the standings. He noted the presence of a lot of ice in one of the turns, which creates added challenges for getting through the curves optimally. Kalenda added that the conditions on the track can lead to late entry into turns, making it difficult to navigate them successfully. This unpredictability adds to the excitement and tension of the races.

As the teams look ahead to the next segments of the competition, the delay in their start numbers may affect their results, with both bobsleighists recognizing that the conditions on the track can significantly impact their performance as they strive to maintain or improve their standing. The Latvians remain hopeful but aware that the competition could easily shift in unexpected ways as they attempt to secure a better position in the rankings.
