A 22-year-old was arrested for drug trafficking during a street festival in Paraíba do Sul, Rio de Janeiro, by police dressed as characters from 'La Casa de Papel.'
In Paraíba do Sul, Brazil, a 22-year-old man was arrested for suspected drug trafficking during a street carnival event. The operation was notable because the police officers executing the arrest were disguised as characters from the popular Spanish series 'La Casa de Papel.' The unusual choice of costumes drew attention and created a theatrical backdrop for law enforcement, as they advised the public to remain alert during the festivities.
The incident occurred after the carnival festivities on Friday, March 13, as large crowds made their way back to the city center. Police noticed a young man carrying a suspicious bag, which prompted an officer to approach him and inquire whether he had any 'loló' (a drug commonly used recreationally in Brazil) available for sale. Upon confirmation of the young man's intentions, the police executed their planned intervention, leading to his arrest.
As a result of the search, the police confiscated 16 containers of loló and a small amount of marijuana, indicating the individual’s involvement with illegal substances. Following the arrest, both the suspect and the drugs were taken to the local police station in Paraíba do Sul, where an inquiry was initiated to further investigate the case and determine any additional details regarding the drug trafficking operation.
