The National Testing Agency has released the results for the JEE Mains 2026 examination, which saw 12 students achieving a perfect 100 percentile. However, the list of toppers did not include any girls, highlighting a gender disparity in the highest ranks. Aashi Grewal from Haryana was noted as the highest-scoring female candidate with an impressive score of 99.9969766 percentile.

This year, the JEE Mains drew participation from over 1.35 million registered candidates, with 1.30 million actually taking the exam, reflecting an attendance rate of 96.26 percent. Among the candidates, there were 855,085 boys and 449,568 girls. The participation of female candidates in the examination has been steadily increasing over the years, although disparities remain in the number of female students achieving top scores compared to their male counterparts.

The gender dynamics in this year's results point towards ongoing challenges in achieving gender parity in engineering entrance exams in India. While the male candidates continue to outperform in the top percentile brackets, the increased participation of female candidates signifies progress.
