This has complicated travel for residents on Rennesøy, who now face the necessity of taking two ferries for southbound travel or when returning from the south.

For residents of Mosterøy, Sokn, and Åmøy, as well as those traveling to these areas, there are manual traffic directions through the Byfjord Tunnel. The incident underscores the disruption caused by such accidents, impacting local transportation routes and prompting safety assessments as cleanup and repairs are carried out.
