On February 16, a significant youth march took place in Vilnius, Lithuania, marking the country's Independence Restoration Day. The event began at Cathedral Square, where students and various participants, proudly carrying the national and school flags, proceeded towards Rasų Cemetery. This annual march serves to honor the pivotal historical events that enabled Lithuania to regain its independence, reinforcing the importance of national identity and statehood.

Participants emphasized the significance of this day, reflecting on the sacrifices made for freedom. A 49-year-old teacher, Kristina Petrošienė, highlighted the necessity of vigilance in protecting the hard-won freedoms, stating that the cost of freedom should not be forgotten. Meanwhile, advocate Živilė Guliakatauskė spoke about the responsibility that freedom entails, particularly towards future generations, and expressed solidarity with those who still struggle for their freedom, specifically mentioning Ukraine, which currently faces conflict.

This march not only celebrated Lithuania's independence but also served as a reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by nations striving for sovereignty and autonomy.
