Latvia's State Real Estate (VNĪ) completed six development projects last year, investing a total of 157.5 million euros.

The State Real Estate of Latvia (VNĪ) has announced the completion of six development projects in the past year, with total investments reaching 157.5 million euros. These projects encompass both the development of border infrastructure and the modernization of facilities for state institutions. Among the notable projects was the construction of a border fence along the Latvian-Russian border, which plays a significant role in enhancing national security and border control.

The border fence, stretching approximately 280 kilometers, was completed with various engineering solutions, including patrol paths and bridges, which aid in ensuring effective monitoring of the border under any circumstances. In total, the construction involved six contractors and collaboration with the National Armed Forces (NBS) on one segment, highlighting the multifaceted approach to enhancing border security in the region. The substantial investment of 138.6 million euros in these construction works reflects the government's commitment to improving national infrastructure and security measures.

As Latvia continues to bolster its border defenses, these completed projects not only signify immediate infrastructural enhancements but also underscore the strategic importance of border security in the context of regional stability and national sovereignty. With further developments expected, including significant projects slated for completion in 2025, VNĪ is playing a crucial role in the ongoing effort to upgrade Latvia's defense capabilities and public infrastructure.
