Almi Marine Management has signed a contract for the construction of two Ultramax bulk carriers with a capacity of 64,000 dwt, scheduled for delivery in the second quarter of 2029.

Almi Marine Management has made a significant investment by signing a contract with NACKS Shipyard for the construction of two new Ultramax bulk carriers, each with a capacity of 64,000 deadweight tons (dwt). This announcement was made by the CEO of the company, Christos Hatzi-georgiou, indicating that the vessels are set to be the first deliveries of the next generation of this world-class design, adhering to the upcoming EEDI Phase IV specifications upon their implementation in the maritime industry.

Scheduled for delivery in the second quarter of 2029, these new ships will feature state-of-the-art technology, including the Everllence 10.7 main engine. They are also equipped with the capability to transport two coils weighing 25 tons, along with a COâ‚‚ protection system for the cargo holds. The inclusion of these features is expected to enhance the operational efficiency and appeal of the vessels to charterers.
