Almi Marine-Two new Ultramax bulk carriers
Almi Marine has contracted the construction of two next-generation Ultramax bulk carriers, set for delivery in 2029, to enhance its fleet with advanced technology and compliance with future environmental regulations.
Almi Marine Management has announced a significant investment in expanding its fleet by signing a contract for the construction of two Ultramax bulk carriers with a deadweight tonnage of 64,000, to be built by NACKS Shipyard. These vessels are scheduled for delivery in the second quarter of 2029. This addition marks an important step in modernizing the company’s operations and fulfilling market demand for efficient bulk carriers that adhere to evolving regulatory standards.
The CEO of Almi Marine, Christos Hadjigeorgiou, highlighted that these new bulk carriers will represent the first deliveries of a next-generation design, incorporating the latest technological advancements in maritime engineering. Upon delivery, the vessels will meet the EEDI Phase IV specifications, ensuring compliance with future environmental regulations aimed at reducing emissions from shipping operations. The integration of cutting-edge technologies, such as the Everllence 10.7 electronic main engine, reflects the company's commitment to environmental sustainability and operational efficiency.
