MyStreet: Four new categories by the end of February – Infrastructure for people with disabilities, ramps, and crossings on the map

The MyStreet application in Greece will add four new geospatial data categories by the end of February, focusing on infrastructure for people with disabilities.

The MyStreet application is set to expand its offerings by the end of February by adding four new categories of geospatial data, which will particularly highlight the infrastructure for people with disabilities. This update will include information on pedestrian crossings, sidewalk ramps, and building entrance ramps, enhancing accessibility for individuals who require such facilities.

In addition to new disability infrastructure data, the MyStreet application currently includes vital resources such as charging points for electric vehicles and safe gathering points in emergencies. This planned feature aims to reflect ongoing efforts to make public spaces more inclusive and safe, ensuring that public resources are available to all members of the community.

According to D. Papastergiou, the government prioritizes the protection of public space and supports this initiative through modern digital tools. The integration of the National Registry of Defibrillators is also in the works, promising to enhance public safety data on the map. This strategic move emphasizes that public space is a right for all citizens, including pedestrians, families, the elderly, and individuals with disabilities, ensuring their safe movement within communities.
