Traffic chaos in several places: Must stop every third minute

Drivers in Norway are experiencing significant traffic delays due to icy conditions causing visibility issues, particularly affecting a group of young girls en route home from an event.

Norwegian roads are facing severe traffic disruptions due to icy conditions that have made driving hazardous. Julia Haraldsen, an 18-year-old from Skien, described her experience with a group of friends returning from a christian youth gathering near Hamar. They encountered a buildup of ice on their carโ€™s windshield and had to frequently stop to scrape it off, contributing to slower traffic and long queues along the route.

As reported by VG, this situation is not isolated, as other drivers on both the E6 and E18 highways are experiencing similar issues due to freezing rain. Haraldsen indicated that they had to stop every few minutes to manage the visibility problems, with several other vehicles also pulled over to perform the same task. This resulted in major traffic congestion, illustrating how dangerous the conditions have become.

Furthermore, incidents related to these hazardous driving conditions have also been reported, including two traffic accidents on the E18 in Horten, with one being noted as a chain reaction crash. As the weather continues to pose challenges, authorities have not yet received formal reports regarding the icy conditions, indicating a widespread impact on travel and safety in the region.
