The state government of São Paulo has completed a major revitalization project for the Cibratel Beach waterfront in Itanhaém, with an investment totaling R$ 4.1 million through a contract signed in December 2023. The improvements were officially delivered on Friday, March 13, highlighting the importance of this prominent coastal area for both residents and tourists. Work on the project began in early 2024 and included extensive enhancements such as drainage systems, sidewalks, road signage, paved areas, electrical networks, and various public amenities.
The revitalization also introduced sports facilities, including courts for beach tennis, volleyball, sand soccer, and basketball, as well as a skate park, restroom areas, and a fitness zone catering to senior citizens. A playground, event space, and beautifully landscaped areas were also developed, which not only improves the infrastructure but also provides a vibrant setting for recreational activities. According to São Paulo's Secretary of Tourism and Travel, Roberto de Lucena, the enhancements to Cibratel Beach make it an even more attractive destination, appealing to local residents and tourists alike.
This project underscores the state government's commitment to enhancing beachside leisure spaces, which are vital to promoting tourism in the region. Such investments are expected to not only improve the quality of life for locals but also to drive economic benefits through increased visitor numbers, contributing to the overall development of Itanhaém as a popular destination along the São Paulo coast.
