EgyptAir has officially added its first Airbus A350-900 to its fleet, a significant milestone celebrated with a ceremony attended by government officials.

EgyptAir has celebrated the addition of its first Airbus A350-900 to its fleet during a special ceremony at Cairo International Airport, presided over by Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouly. The event was attended by civil aviation officials, including Minister of Civil Aviation Samah Hefni and international representatives from Airbus and European diplomats. The acquisition is part of a larger deal that aims to include 16 A350s in total, enhancing EgyptAir's operational capacity and modernizing its fleet.

The chairman of EgyptAir Holding Company, Ahmed Adel, emphasized that this new aircraft represents a critical moment in the airline's history. It is expected that by 2027, EgyptAir's fleet will expand significantly, totaling 34 new aircraft, alongside upgrades to four others, thereby supporting both operational efficiency and passenger experience. The addition of the A350, which is recognized for its fuel efficiency and passenger comfort, marks a step forward in reinforcing EgyptAir's position as a competitive player in the global aviation market.

On the same day, Minister Hefni announced that Cairo International Airport achieved a new record in operations, with over 11,200 passengers arriving on that Sunday alone. This statistic reflects the growing demand for air travel in Egypt and signals a positive trend for the country’s tourism and aviation sectors, which are recovering strongly post-pandemic. The addition of more modern aircraft is expected to play a pivotal role in meeting these demands and enhancing the travel experience for passengers.
