A 30-year-old man was arrested for his involvement in three motorcycle thefts that occurred in Southern Piauí over a span of 12 hours, allegedly linked to a criminal organization from Ceará.

A 30-year-old man, identified only by the initials C.F.V., was arrested on Friday, the 13th, suspected of being involved in three motorcycle thefts in different cities in Southern Piauí. According to the Military Police, the thefts occurred within a 12-hour period, indicating a pattern in the criminal activity. The police also revealed that the suspect has connections to a criminal organization known for vehicle thefts originating from Ceará.

The first incidents took place in the Mandacaru neighborhood of São Julião on the night of Thursday, the 12th, followed by another theft early on Friday, the 13th. Shortly thereafter, a third motorcycle was stolen in Vila Nova do Piauí, approximately 20 kilometers away. The crimes were executed in a similar manner, with part of the group using fake keys to unlock and steal the motorcycles, while others provided support in a rented vehicle, which witnesses reported seeing trailing the stolen motorcycles.

The involvement of a criminal organization from another state highlights a potential trend in organized crime across borders, raising concerns about security and the enforcement capabilities of local authorities. With such a swift series of thefts, police are stressing the need for increased vigilance and community cooperation to combat these types of organized criminal activities.
