A couple was arrested for pretending to be relatives of a young woman injured in an accident to steal her motorcycle in Campo Maior, Piauí.
In Campo Maior, Piauí, a couple was apprehended after impersonating the family members of a young woman who had been involved in a motorcycle accident to steal her vehicle. The incident occurred when the young woman, who had a motorbike accident on February 22, discovered that her vehicle was stolen shortly thereafter. The thieves, identified as 19-year-old Ana Clara Alvarenga Rodrigues and a 16-year-old, posed as the young woman’s relatives to gain access to the motorcycle under the pretense of assisting the victim's family.
Authorities were alerted when the victim reported the theft to the Polícia Militar do Piauí, prompting a swift investigation by the 15th Military Battalion, which tracked down the suspects. The victim's sister played a crucial role by identifying the suspects' location. Following a thorough investigation, police managed to retrieve the stolen motorcycle hidden in an abandoned building in the Cidade Nova neighborhood, indicating a premeditated plan by the couple.
