As Carnival 2026 approaches, the state government of Amapá has announced changes to the operation of public services and businesses. On Monday, February 16th, 2026, public offices will have a holiday and will be closed on Tuesday, February 17th, resuming operations on Wednesday, February 18th, at 2 PM. This adjustment aims to accommodate the festivities while maintaining essential services.

Pharmacies, classified as essential businesses, will remain open without restrictions during Carnival. This means they can operate at any time, ensuring that health services remain accessible to the public throughout the celebrations. In addition to state services, the city of Macapá has also declared a holiday on Tuesday and an optional day of work on Monday.
