First Gripen fighter manufactured in Brazil to be presented on March 25

The first F-39 Gripen fighter assembled in Brazil is set to be unveiled on March 25 at the Embraer factory in Gavião Peixoto.

The first F-39 Gripen fighter jet assembled in Brazil is scheduled for its unveiling on March 25 at Embraer's facility located in Gavião Peixoto, which is about 300 km from São Paulo. Although the jet is reportedly ready for presentation, it has yet to undertake any flight tests. Details regarding its delivery to the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) remain unspecified, stirring speculation about the timeline for its operational deployment.

The event is expected to attract top officials from the Brazilian Air Force along with other authorities, marking a significant milestone in Brazil's defense capabilities. Brazilian President Lula da Silva has previously participated in events associated with this program, including the inauguration of the Gripen assembly line conducted with Sweden's Saab and Embraer in partnership. This collaboration signifies an important step for Brazil's development of advanced military technology.

Currently, the Brazilian Air Force has ten Gripen aircraft in training operations at the Anápolis Air Base, along with an additional unit stationed in Gavião Peixoto. While all previously delivered Gripens were produced in Sweden, the Brazilian program aims to manufacture a total of 36 Gripen fighters, fifteen of which will be assembled in Brazil. This initiative not only strengthens Brazil's defense but also positions it as a participant in the global defense industry through local manufacturing capabilities.
