Embraer announces agreement to set up final assembly line for jets in India
Embraer has signed an agreement with Adani Defence & Aerospace to establish a final assembly line for the E175 regional jet in India.
Embraer, Brazil’s leading aircraft manufacturer, has announced a significant milestone in its international operations by entering into an agreement with Adani Defence & Aerospace to set up a final assembly line for its E175 regional jet in India. This agreement, which was signed by Embraer’s CEO Francisco Gomes Neto and Adani’s director Jeet Adani, took place in the presence of Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and India's Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal. Such collaborations highlight Brazil's growing aerospace cooperation with India.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) represents an enhancement of a previous agreement from January 2026 and aligns with India's broader strategy concerning the development of regional transportation aircraft. With the establishment of this assembly line, Embraer aims to tap into the vast Indian market, which has an increasing demand for regional and commuter aircraft. This infrastructural addition is expected to bolster local production capabilities, create jobs, and foster knowledge transfer within India’s aerospace sector.
This development is emblematic of a wider trend in which global aerospace firms are increasingly looking to India as a crucial market and a manufacturing hub. The partnership underscores a commitment to strengthening ties between Brazil and India and could potentially lead to further collaborations in aviation and other sectors, enhancing bilateral trade and investment in the aerospace domain.
