Parcel Fraud in UP: Delivery Boy Manipulated to Steal Gold Coins, 3 Arrested
Three suspects were arrested in Uttar Pradesh for stealing gold and silver coins and biscuits from courier parcels by bribing delivery boys.
In an incident in Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh, police have uncovered an organized gang involved in stealing gold and silver coins and biscuits from courier parcels, arresting three key suspects in the process. The police recovered two gold coins, two gold biscuits, and four mobile phones from the suspects, revealing the operation's methods and scale.
The gang operated by placing prepaid orders for gold and silver items on online platforms, targeting different cities and addresses. During the courier delivery process, they would entice delivery boys by offering to split a promised sum of 1000 rupees from order cancellations, thereby allowing them to access and steal the high-value items while the delivery boys were distracted.
The illicit activities came to light when Vinod Pal, a supervisor at MS Watermelon Company, filed a complaint with the police, reporting that five parcels containing gold coins and biscuits were delivered with their contents missing. As the police investigation unfolds, two suspects remain at large, and the authorities are working to apprehend them and dismantle further operations of the gang.
