Military Police reinforces policing during Carnival with 120 police officers per day in Roraima

The Military Police of Roraima is increasing security presence during Carnival with 120 police officers deployed daily in various locations throughout the state.

The Military Police of Roraima (PMRR) has announced a significant increase in the number of police officers present during the upcoming Carnival celebrations in the state. At least 120 military officers will be deployed every day at key festive locations in Boa Vista and across the state to ensure safety as crowds increase. This initiative is part of a broader security plan that responds to the anticipated rise in public gatherings on streets and highways.

In the capital, Boa Vista, the majority of the additional police force will be stationed at significant sites such as Fábio Paracat, Cabos e Soldados, Nova Cidade, and Praça Linear Chico do Carneiro, which are expected to host official events as well as various Carnival blocks. Notably, approximately 50 to 60 officers will be specifically assigned to the Praça Fábio Paracat, where the largest crowds are expected, while other squares will have a reinforcement of 15 to 20 officers, along with specialized unit support.

In addition to the capital, increased police presence will also cover the interior areas of Roraima, particularly during the regional event 'Carafolia 2026 – The Cup of Joy' in Caracaraí, planned for February 13 to 17. This comprehensive strategy highlights the authorities' commitment to public safety amid large-scale celebrations, ensuring that both participants and spectators can enjoy the festivities safely and securely.
