Eesti ski jumpers Kaimar Vagul and Artti Aigro are set to compete in the men's individual event at the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics on Saturday.
The men's individual ski jumping competition at the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics will continue on Saturday, featuring Estonian athletes Kaimar Vagul and the injury-recovered Artti Aigro. The live broadcast from ETV2 and ERR's sports portal will start at 7:55 PM, with commentary provided by Kristjan Kalkun and Kaarel Nurmsalu, and reporting by Johannes Vedru. In a previous individual competition in Predazzo, German jumper Philipp Raimund achieved the best jump, showcasing the competitive nature of the event.
During his Olympic debut, 18-year-old Kaimar Vagul performed solidly, finishing 36th among 49 athletes, just three points shy of advancing to the next round. Vagul expressed satisfaction with his performance, stating, 'The debut went very well! I was able to do what I had shown during training.' He noted the challenge of competing in such a prestigious setting, where the presence of Olympic rings added to the pressure.
As the Estonian team looks to enhance its performance with Aigro's return, anticipation builds for Saturday's competition. The involvement of these athletes not only represents a pivotal moment in their careers but also highlights Estonia's participation in the Winter Olympic Games, showcasing the nation's young talent on an international stage.
