Artti Aigro can participate in the Olympic Winter Games large hill competition
Estonian ski jumper Artti Aigro has been confirmed to compete in the large hill event at the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics on February 14, after recovering from injuries sustained in a training accident.
Estonian ski jumper Artti Aigro is set to participate in the large hill event at the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics, which is scheduled for February 14. His participation comes after a challenging recovery from injuries he sustained during a training jump at Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, where he suffered fractures and ligament damage to his left leg, leading to doubts about his readiness for the Olympics.
Following a rigorous rehabilitation process, Aigro was able to make a successful return to jumping at Lillehammer, Norway. On the evening of February 7, the Estonian Olympic Committee confirmed that Aigro completed training jumps and received medical clearance from his doctors, allowing him to compete at the Olympics. His perseverance and dedication to recovery have been key, as Aigro expressed relief and happiness at being able to return to competition after 40 days of rehabilitation.
Aigroβs determination highlights not only his personal resilience but also the support he received from medical professionals throughout his recovery. As he prepares for the upcoming competition, Aigro remains optimistic and self-assured, having successfully completed seven training jumps and noting that his leg condition is progressing positively, aligning with the earlier assessments of his doctors and physiotherapists.
