CTE will verify the presentation of habilitating documents during the Carnival holiday
The Ecuadorian Transit Commission (CTE) will verify the presentation of necessary documentation during the Carnival holiday to ensure road safety, considering operational challenges faced by users.
The Ecuadorian Transit Commission (CTE) has announced that during the upcoming Carnival holiday, its focus will be on verifying the necessary habilitating documents for drivers and vehicles. This decision comes in light of operational challenges that have affected users' ability to complete their paperwork due to issues in the technological systems of the National Transit Agency (ANT). The CTE aims to ensure road safety by being understanding of these temporary limitations while still enforcing necessary regulations.
To enhance road safety during the holiday period, the CTE has developed a comprehensive operational plan targeting key regions including Guayas, Santa Elena, Los Ríos, El Oro, Azuay, Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, Manabí, Pichincha, and Bolívar. A total of 5,200 agents, along with 238 motorcycles and 223 vehicles dedicated to both operational tasks and rescue missions, will be deployed throughout these areas. This deployment emphasizes the CTE's commitment to maintaining safety on the roads during one of Ecuador's busiest travel times.
Moreover, additional resources such as teams from the Emergency and Rescue Unit (UREM) and the Road Accident Investigation Office (OIAT) will be in action along the country's routes to provide assistance and promote safe driving practices. The CTE's proactive measures reflect an effort to mitigate traffic accidents and ensure a safe environment for all travelers during the festive holiday season, thereby highlighting the importance of vigilant road management in Ecuador.
