In Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, police have apprehended a father-son duo responsible for robbing women of jewelry using a clever narcotics trick. The arrests were made by the Nagina police after a report was filed on February 4, 2026, by a man whose wife was approached by the suspects under the pretext of asking for directions. During their conversation, the gang members managed to stealthily remove the woman's earrings, showcasing their deceptive methods.
The police seized five yellow metal earrings and one tops from the suspects, identified as Dilshad alias Bhaiyya and his son Dilnawaz, both residents of Amroha. During interrogation, the duo revealed their modus operandi of targeting vulnerable women, emphasizing that they would discreetly hide the stolen jewelry before planning to sell it later. This operation illustrates a concerning trend of targeted robberies in the region, particularly aimed at women who are alone and defenseless.
The case highlights the need for increased awareness and caution among women regarding their personal safety, particularly in public spaces where such clever schemes might be employed. Authorities are intensifying their efforts to combat such criminal activities and ensure public safety, with a particular focus on community engagement to educate potential victims about these tactics and encourage reporting of suspicious behavior.
