A ruling by the Mendoza Court benefited a former distributor of Manaos who will receive a multi-million compensation

A former distributor of the Manaos soda won a lawsuit against the company, being awarded over 800 million pesos due to fraudulent practices in their employment relationship.

The Supreme Court of Justice of Mendoza has ruled in favor of a former distributor of the Manaos soda, granting him a compensation of over 800 million pesos, approximately half a million dollars. This decision came after the court accepted a technical recourse in a lawsuit initiated four years ago, where the plaintiff demonstrated that there were fraudulent maneuvers in his employment connection with the beverage company known as Refres Now SA, which produces Manaos and other brands like Villamanaos, Bichi, and Cunnington.

The court's ruling not only confirmed the findings of previous legal instances but also modified the terms of compensation. The total compensation amount now consists of 223,419,076 pesos as principal and 584,257,217 pesos in interest. Judicial sources indicated that the total amount to be paid is significant, although it represents only half of what the plaintiff initially claimed, reflecting the complexities involved in cases of employment disputes and compensation claims within the country's judicial system.

This ruling could have implications for similar cases in Argentina, as it sets a precedent on how fraudulent employment practices will be addressed by the judiciary. It also highlights the financial and legal challenges that companies may face when engaging with employees and the importance of compliance with labor regulations. The Manaos case could lead to increased scrutiny of employment practices in the beverage industry and possibly encourage other aggrieved employees to pursue legal action against their employers for similar grievances.
