Metropolitan BRT will operate with a full fleet during Carnival in Greater Belém
The Metropolitan BRT in Greater Belém, Brazil, is set to operate its full fleet during Carnival, ensuring transportation for those attending local festivities.
The Regulatory and Control Agency of Public Services of the State of Pará (Arcon) announced that the Metropolitan BRT will operate with its full fleet throughout the Carnival period. This operational strategy is particularly focused on the bus lines servicing municipalities such as Benevides, Santa Bárbara, Santa Izabel do Pará, and Castanhal, aiming to enhance mobility for residents and visitors partaking in the region's Carnival celebrations.
According to Gilberto Barbosa, the director of Metropolitan Transport at Arcon, the BRT system is expected to function normally during the festivities due to the historical significance of Carnival in the metropolitan municipalities, which usually results in increased demand for public transport services. The agency emphasized the importance of maintaining reliable transit options for people attending the various local blocks and parties that characterize the Carnival experience in the area.
Additionally, the BRT continues to operate in an assisted mode, meaning that both Arcon and the BRT Amazônia concessionaire will monitor the service closely for any necessary adjustments during the holiday period. This collaborative effort aims to ensure that the transportation needs of the community are met efficiently, contributing to a smoother Carnival experience for all users relying on public transport during this festive season.
