The metro system connecting Salvador to Lauro de Freitas will operate 24 hours a day for seven days during the 2026 Carnival, starting on February 12 and ending on February 18. This special operation is meant to accommodate the large influx of revelers during the festivities. The metro will allow boarding at specific stations between midnight and 5 AM, while all other stations will be open for disembarking, except for the CAB station which will be closed during those hours.
Additionally, bus terminals in the region, including Águas Claras, Pirajá, Acesso Norte, Rodoviária, Mussurunga, and the Airport, will also operate around the clock during Carnival. This extensive service aims to ensure that attendees can easily and safely access the Carnival events and venues throughout the city, thereby improving overall transportation capacity during this busy period.
The CCR Metrô has announced that it will continuously monitor customer flow and make operational adjustments based on demand. Enhanced security and service teams will be deployed to ensure the safety and efficiency of the service, further reflecting the city's commitment to accommodating the massive crowds expected during this popular annual celebration.
