The Carnagay event in Cabo Frio, Brazil, will gather the LGBTQIAPN+ community and participants from various backgrounds on Monday, February 16. Celebrating its 22nd edition, this year's theme is 'O Forte é Sapatão', in homage to the Praia do Forte area. Organizers expect around 20,000 attendees to join the festivities starting at 2 PM at Duna Boa Vista, also known as Duna Preta.
The parade will kick off at 6 PM, led by a trio elétrico, which will make its way along the beach front to Quiosque Bambu, a popular LGBTQIAPN+ meeting spot in Cabo Frio. The musical line-up includes notable DJs such as Lucas de Paula, Nanda Machado, Sabrina, and Dieesel, playing a mix of axé, carnival tunes, and pop music, enhancing the lively atmosphere of the event. Additionally, there will be performances by drag queens Mary Miller and Naomi during the parade.
Funded by the Política Nacional Aldir Blanc, this event not only serves as a platform for cultural expression and community gathering but also highlights the ongoing support and celebration of LGBTQIAPN+ rights in Brazil.
