The turnover of Greek businesses reached 492.1 billion euros in 2025, reflecting a growth of 1.6% from the previous year, with notable increases in Mining and Education sectors.
According to the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT), the turnover of all businesses in Greece totaled 492.1 billion euros in 2025, marking a 1.6% growth compared to 484.5 billion euros in 2024. This increase indicates a gradual recovery and expansion in various sectors of the Greek economy as businesses adjust to post-pandemic realities. The data highlights significant sector variability, with Mining and Quarrying seeing remarkable growth at 11.2%, while the Education sector also performed well with an 8.9% increase. In contrast, Public Administration and Defense as well as Compulsory Social Security sectors experienced downturns, reflecting challenges in state-affiliated enterprises.
In the fourth quarter of 2025, the overall business turnover reached 129.4 billion euros, showing a 1.4% increase from 127.6 billion euros in the same period of the previous year. The Education sector outpaced others with a noteworthy 15.6% growth, suggesting a heightened demand for educational services, potentially driven by changes in societal needs or increased investment in education. However, the Real Estate Management sector faced a decline of 9.3%, indicating potential market corrections or reduced demand in the property sector.
As this data becomes part of economic analysis, it suggests that while some sectors are flourishing, others are facing challenges that might affect future policies and investment strategies in Greece. The fluctuations in turnover across different sectors will be crucial for stakeholders, including policymakers and business leaders, as they navigate the paths to economic stability and growth in the coming years.
