Poll: Conservative Party Gap in Ratings
A recent poll indicates a decline in support for the Conservative Party in Lithuania, with only 13.3% of respondents indicating they would vote for them, down from 15.3% in December.
A recent survey conducted in Lithuania has revealed a significant decline in the support for the ruling Conservative Party, Tėvynės sąjunga-Lietuvos krikščionis demokratus (TS-LKD), with only 13.3% of respondents expressing their intention to vote for them, a decrease from 15.3% in December. The survey indicates that the party is experiencing a notable dip in ratings at a critical time, as the Lithuanian political landscape remains competitive with several other parties gaining ground.
Following the Conservatives in the poll is the ruling Lietuvos valstiečių ir žaliųjų sąjunga (LVŽS), which has seen an increase in support, now standing at 7.6%, up from 5.7% in December. This upward trend suggests that voters may be looking for alternatives to the ruling party, particularly as dissatisfaction grows among the electorate. Meanwhile, "Nemuno aušra" holds 7.5%, indicating a similarly competitive political environment among the smaller parties.
In fourth and fifth place, the Lietuvos socialdemokratų partija (LSDP) and the opposition Liberalų sąjūdis are tied with 7.3% support each, showing a slight decline compared to last month. The survey also highlighted that other minor parties like the National Unity Party and the Freedom Party may not surpass the 5% threshold needed to enter the parliament, emphasizing the fragmentation within Lithuania's political spectrum and how newer parties might struggle to gain a foothold in the upcoming elections.
