The Finnish Meteorological Institute has issued a frost warning for the entire mainland of Finland, effective this Friday. This yellow alert signifies the potential for hazardous icy weather conditions outside, as temperatures are expected to drop significantly. In addition to the frost warning, flood warnings have been issued for Northern Ostrobothnia, specifically for Pudasjärvi and Taivalkoski, due to rising water levels caused by melting ice. Moreover, there are advisories for low sea water levels in coastal areas, alongside wind warnings and ice formation alerts in various regions. These weather developments highlight the challenges faced by communities as they prepare for extreme conditions.

The cold snap is expected to extend into the weekend, with daytime temperatures across the country ranging between -10 and -20 degrees Celsius from Friday to Sunday. Citizens are urged to take precautions against the chill, especially when venturing outdoors, as the prolonged exposure to such freezing temperatures could lead to serious health issues.
