ANT enables registration of new cars in four more cities

The National Transit Agency (ANT) has extended the registration system for new vehicles to four additional cantons in Ecuador as part of service reactivation efforts following a suspension due to internal investigations.

On February 12, 2026, the National Transit Agency (ANT) in Ecuador announced the expansion of its new vehicle registration system to the cantons of Cuenca, Loja, Riobamba, and Ambato. This move comes as a significant step in the progressive reactivation of their services, which had been temporarily halted at the end of January due to the internal investigation known as the Jaque Case. This case implicated several officials and led to the suspension of essential registration processes, causing a backlog in vehicle registrations.
