Seven alleged members of the Chiapas-Guatemala Cartel were arrested in Ocozocoautla during an interinstitutional operation that also resulted in the seizure of weapons, vehicles, motorcycles, cartridges, and suspected drugs.
Authorities have arrested seven individuals identified as members of the Chiapas-Guatemala Cartel during a joint operation in the community of Ocuilapa, Ocozocoautla. The operation was led by the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP) and involved the Immediate Reaction Force Pakal (FRIP), State Preventive Guard, and the National Defense Secretariat. In addition to the arrests, the authorities seized three long guns, four vehicles, two motorcycles, 26 magazines, 810 rounds of ammunition, and three ballistic vests. This crackdown is part of ongoing efforts to combat organized crime in the region.
The individuals detained in the first intervention were Mefiboset 'N', Josué 'N', and David 'N', who have been described as key players in generating violence within the area. The authorities' swift action highlights the collaborative work of various security agencies in addressing the alarming rise of violence attributed to organized crime and narcotics trafficking in Mexico's southern border region.
Following the initial arrests, a second operation led to the capture of four additional suspects, further underscoring the authorities' commitment to dismantling criminal networks that threaten public safety. The seizures of weapons and narcotics during these operations reflect a broader strategy to disrupt the operations of cartels and restore security to affected communities, marking a significant step in the fight against drug-related violence in Mexico.
