A disturbing video obtained by TV Globo captures the moment a father reacts in despair as he exits his car following the shooting of his 8-year-old daughter, Valentina da Costa Eraclito dos Santos, during an attempted robbery in Nova Iguaçu. The incident occurred at approximately 11:50 PM on Wednesday night as they were returning home. In the footage, the father is seen frantically leaving the vehicle after the attackers fired shots while trying to steal their car.

The video reveals that the assailants approached from the left and aligned their vehicle with the father's car just before the shooting took place. Witnesses report that the criminals forced the father out of the car in the rain, moments after the incident occurred. Alongside the three individuals in the assailants' vehicle, a motorcycle driver is also under investigation for potential involvement in the attempted robbery.

In the aftermath of the shooting, young Valentina was transported to Hospital da Posse in Nova Iguaçu where she underwent surgery for her injuries.
