A tragic incident unfolded early Saturday morning (21) at a fuel station in São Fidélis, Northern Rio de Janeiro, where customers, including a dog, were seen trying to find safety amidst a chaotic shooting. Footage captured the fear as a 27-year-old man was fatally shot inside the store while other patrons hid behind the checkout counter. The violence erupted when gunfire was directed from the street, reflecting the troubling security climate in this region.

The Military Police reported that two other individuals suffered injuries in the firing, with a 47-year-old employee sustaining gunshot wounds to his leg and arm, while a 28-year-old victim was shot in the leg. Eyewitness accounts indicated that the attackers, who fled on a motorcycle wearing helmets, remain unidentified. This highlights ongoing issues of gun violence and safety concerns in Brazilian cities, particularly in areas prone to crime.

Emergency responders initially transported the injured to the Armando Vidal Hospital before they were transferred to the Ferreira Machado Hospital in Campos dos Goytacazes.
