Carnival weekend in Belém will have afternoon rain and thunderstorms, says Semas
The Carnival weekend in Belém is forecasted to experience unstable weather with rain and thunderstorms, particularly in the afternoon and evening.
In anticipation of the Carnival weekend, the Secretary of State for the Environment, Climate, and Sustainability (Semas) has issued a weather forecast for Belém, indicating unstable conditions characterized by rain and thunderstorms expected mostly in the afternoon and nighttime. Maximum temperatures are projected to reach 31°C, while the minimums will dip to around 23°C from Friday, February 13, to Sunday, February 15, in the Metropolitan Region of Belém.
The weather instability is attributed to moisture circulation and low-level atmospheric conditions, in conjunction with the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), which increases cloudiness across the state. The forecast highlights a potential for significant rainfall, especially in southwestern Pará, which could impact local events and festivities during the Carnival period.
As the region gears up for one of its most vibrant cultural celebrations, the anticipated weather conditions may pose challenges to residents and visitors alike, particularly those planning outdoor activities. Preparedness for rainy weather will be crucial for ensuring safety and enjoyment during the Carnival festivities in Belém and surrounding areas.
