Fachin calls for meeting on PF report that cites Toffoli and the minister's response about suspicion

Brazil's Supreme Court President Edson Fachin has called a meeting to discuss a new PF report that implicates Justice Dias Toffoli amid ongoing controversy.

Edson Fachin, the President of Brazil's Supreme Federal Court (STF), has convened a meeting for Thursday, November 12, with fellow justices to address the latest developments regarding the Banco Master crisis, following a report from the Federal Police (PF) that mentions Justice Dias Toffoli. The gathering aims to inform the other ministers about the particulars of the PF report and Toffoli's written response concerning allegations of his suspicion in the matter.

Fachin also noted during the plenary hearing that he would start listening to oral arguments in a trial concerning the responsibilities of the Federal Court of Auditors (TCU), though he would be concluding the session early to facilitate discussions among the court's justices. It was reported that all ministers are expected to attend the meeting, except for Luiz Fux and André Mendonça who are currently outside of Brasília.

The PF’s report, which is causing significant attention and concern, has surfaced evidence linking Toffoli to the controversies surrounding Banco Master through communications found on the cellphone of entrepreneur Daniel Vorcaro. This development is poised to escalate tensions within the highest court of Brazil, particularly relating to the integrity and accountability of its justices amidst allegations of misconduct.
