Jarkko Tamminen lost control of his car in Porvoo: 'I fell into it'
Finnish impersonator Jarkko Tamminen lost control of his electric car while driving home in Porvoo and ended up in a ditch.
Jarkko Tamminen, a 49-year-old Finnish impersonator, recently shared on Instagram that he had lost control of his Volvo EX90 electric car while driving back home from a performance at Haikon Kartano. In his story, he showed a picture of the incident, noting that he had encountered a slippery curve in Porvoo. Despite his efforts to brake smoothly, the icy condition caused him to slide into a ditch at approximately 40 kilometers per hour, which he managed to slow down to about 10 kilometers per hour before realizing he could not stop completely.
Tamminen recounted the moment he reached the slippery curve and described how he tried to navigate the turn cautiously without success. He observed a softer spot in the ditch that fortunately did not have any rocks or dangerous debris. This allowed his car to come to rest without further damage, showcasing a bit of luck in an otherwise precarious situation. Following the incident, he called for a tow truck, which arrived in under half an hour, highlighting the challenges of winter driving conditions in Finland.
The story serves as a reminder of the perils that drivers face during icy conditions, especially in regions like Porvoo where winter temperatures can lead to dangerous road situations. Tamminen's experience emphasizes the importance of caution and preparedness when driving in such weather, especially for those traveling on less familiar roads.
