Carnival in Sergipe: More than 8,000 police officers will ensure security during the festivities
Sergipe announced that over 8,000 police officers will be deployed for security during the Carnival celebrations from February 13 to 17, 2026.
The Secretary of Public Security in Sergipe revealed plans for heightened security during the upcoming Carnival period, with over 8,000 law enforcement personnel set to be deployed across the state. The security plan was unveiled in a press conference in Aracaju and covers the dates from February 13 to 17, 2026. The integrated efforts will involve the Military Police, Civil Police, Military Fire Brigade, and Scientific Police, aimed at ensuring the safety of both revelers and tourists during the festive period.
The operational strategy focuses on several key actions, including increased visible policing, extended duty shifts, and intensified patrols on state highways. With approximately 500 vehicles at their disposal, the Military Police will enhance their presence, especially in municipalities that will host festivities as well as those that will not. This comprehensive approach seeks to prevent potential incidents and ensure a safe environment for everyone participating in the Carnival experience.
In addition to the substantial police presence, the State Highway Police will also conduct stricter inspections on the roads to prevent driving under the influence, which is a crucial aspect of ensuring public safety during such large-scale festivities. This thorough planning reflects the commitment of local authorities to prioritize safety and create a fun and secure atmosphere for Carnival revelers in Sergipe.
