The DAP wants to sell spruce trees damaged by bark beetles in the Gauja National Park
The Nature Conservation Agency is seeking timber companies to cut down and buy spruce trees affected by bark beetles in the Gauja National Park.
The Nature Conservation Agency (DAP) of Latvia is actively looking for logging companies interested in cutting and purchasing spruce trees that have been damaged by bark beetles in the Gauja National Park. According to Baiba Ralle, the agency's senior communication specialist, an electronic auction has been set up offering 120 cubic meters of firewood located in Sigulda, which falls within the protected nature reserve of Gauja National Park. The starting auction price is set at 25 euros per cubic meter, with the wood primarily consisting of spruce affected by the beetles. Buyers are responsible for the removal of the timber, following the regulations of the national park.
