Weather's U-turn, Rain and Snow Return... Weather Will Change in These 12 States!

The India Meteorological Department has forecasted rain and snowfall in various northern states due to two upcoming Western Disturbances, expected from February 13 onwards.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced the arrival of two new Western Disturbances that are expected to bring significant weather changes to parts of Northern India. On February 13, and again around February 16-17, rain and snowfall are predicted in the western Himalayan region, which could lead to a drop in temperatures, reminding residents of winter. The return of cold weather is anticipated as the mountains are likely to be blanketed in snow, subsequently causing chilly winds to sweep across the plains.

Specifically, the IMD has issued alerts for rain and snow across several states. On February 13 and 16-17, regions in Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Muzaffarabad may experience these weather changes. Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand are also likely to see rain and snow at various places between February 16 and 18. Moreover, light rain is possible in Arunachal Pradesh on February 14 and 15, while certain areas in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, western Uttar Pradesh, and northern Rajasthan could witness thunderstorms and rain on February 17.

This forecast indicates that the country is bracing for a noticeable weather shift, with potential impacts on daily life, agriculture, and seasonal activities. Residents in affected areas are advised to prepare for colder temperatures and varying weather conditions, as this series of disturbances may disrupt usual climatic patterns just when people expected warmer weather to set in.
