Section of BR-365 in Uberlândia is among the 10 most dangerous in MG, survey indicates
A segment of BR-365 in Uberlândia has been identified as one of the most dangerous road sections in Minas Gerais based on accident statistics.
The BR-365 highway, specifically the stretch between the access roundabout to the Tocantins neighborhood and the Regis Bittencourt Viaduct, has been highlighted as one of the ten most hazardous federal road sections in Minas Gerais. This information comes from the Travel Safety Guide 2026, published by the National Confederation of Transport (CNT), which analyzes accident occurrences over ten-kilometer segments. According to the report, this particular stretch ranks eighth in the state for the highest number of accidents, with 97 incidents and six fatalities reported in 2025.
The Federal Highway Police noted that the concerning segment is located within the urban perimeter of Uberlândia, extending from the roundabout connecting to the Tocantins neighborhood to the junction with BR-050, near the Regis Bittencourt Viaduct. This urban road segment may pose additional risks due to increased traffic dynamics typical of city environments, including pedestrian crossings and mixed traffic conditions.
The identification of BR-365 as one of the most dangerous stretches underscores the need for increased safety measures and public awareness to prevent further accidents. Local authorities and traffic management agencies may need to reevaluate road safety protocols and consider implementing improvements, such as signage, traffic signals, or infrastructural upgrades, to address the identified risks and protect commuters in the region.
