RKAS hopes to complete the planning of the police city in Tallinn within a couple of years

The RKAS aims to finalize the planning of the new police complex in Tallinn within the next two years despite not yet securing government funding for construction.

The State Real Estate Ltd. (RKAS) plans to develop a new police city in Tallinn, located at Rahumäe, which will house various departments of the Police and Border Guard Board (PPA). Although the government has not allocated funding for the construction phase yet, planning is currently underway with ambitions to complete it within a couple of years. The police city is anticipated to consist of multiple essential buildings that will address the future needs of the PPA.

The proposal for the detailed planning of the police city has been in progress since 2021, with the initiative formally being launched by the city's planning authority in October last year. The chosen contractor for the detailed planning is Optimal Projekt, which is tasked with completing the planning by November 2028 according to their agreement with RKAS. This timeline suggests a systematic approach to address the growing demands on police infrastructure in the metropolitan area while also adapting to urban planning requirements in Tallinn.

The establishment of a dedicated police complex reflects a significant investment in local public safety infrastructure. If realized as planned, this development could enhance the operational efficiency of the PPA and improve the overall emergency response capabilities in the Tallinn area. The next steps will hinge on securing necessary funding and ensuring that the project adheres to the established timeline for completion.
