Ukraine receives 22 generators from Lithuania
Ukraine has received 22 generators from Lithuania to aid hospitals and critical infrastructure in Kyiv.
Ukraine has received a significant donation of 22 generators from Lithuania, amounting to a total capacity of 13 MW, aimed at supporting hospitals and critical infrastructure in Kyiv. This initiative is part of Lithuania's ongoing commitment to assist Ukraine during the full-scale war. According to Ukraine's Energy Minister, Denys Shmyhal, these generators will be particularly connected to essential services such as water and heating facilities in the capital.
Minister Shmyhal highlighted that Lithuania has been a proactive ally, having sent numerous humanitarian shipments since the conflict began, totalling 348 shipments and over 5,900 tonnes of energy equipment. Lithuania's support extends beyond the recent delivery, with a total contribution of β¬5.7 million to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, showcasing a strong partnership in energy resilience and humanitarian assistance.
Furthermore, the Lithuanian government has previously committed to transferring additional generators, with an earlier announcement made in January regarding the urgent dispatch of 90 generators worth over β¬2 million. This move was complemented by financial contributions from local authorities in Lithuania, further emphasizing the solidarity and resource-sharing between the two nations as Ukraine continues to face challenges in maintaining its critical infrastructure during the ongoing conflict.
