Jaguar and cubs seen walking during the day on highway in Iguaçu Falls park
A jaguar and her cubs were spotted walking during the day on a highway within Iguaçu National Park in Brazil, a common sight according to researchers.
A jaguar and her cubs were observed walking along a highway in the Iguaçu National Park, known for the famous Iguaçu Falls, located in Foz do Iguaçu, western Paraná. The sightings were recorded on the afternoon of Monday, the 9th. Researchers from the Iguaçu Jaguars Project pointed out that the presence of this species in the park is not uncommon and does not constitute a rare observation.
The researchers indicated that jaguars, particularly females with cubs, are frequently seen on the park's trails, which suggests that the area provides suitable conditions for the species' reproduction and survival. Yara de Melo Barros, the project coordinator, expressed enthusiasm over the beautiful sighting of a female jaguar with her young, highlighting the importance of these observations for understanding the local wildlife.
As the animals roam through areas frequented by visitors, the project maintains constant monitoring in these spaces to ensure safety for both wildlife and park visitors. If any risk to humans or potential danger arises, immediate actions can be taken to mitigate these risks while preserving the habitat and the species.
